The Big Names Finally Step In: Milano P1 Round of 32, Day 2
For two days, the Milano P1 has been warming up. On Wednesday 14 October, it stops warming up. The top seeds enter the draw, and the tournament genuinely begins.
Fourteen matches are scheduled across three courts, starting at 09:30 Spain time (04:30 Argentina). But the real story is who is playing, not just how many matches there are. Wednesday is the day the title contenders finally show their hands in Milan.
The headline matches on Centre Court
The centre court schedule reads like a who's who of the Premier Padel men's game. Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello open their tournament in the fourth slot, facing Arnau Ayats and Emilio Sánchez Chamero. On paper, a comfortable first outing for the number one pairing. In practice, first matches after a bye are always the ones where timing and rhythm can catch you off guard.
Later on centre court, Ale Galán and Fede Chingotto take on the Deus brothers, Miguel and Nuno. This is another match where the seeded pair are heavy favourites, but Galán and Chingotto are still bedding in as a partnership, which makes every early-round performance worth watching closely for tactical clues.
Juan Lebrón and Leo Augsburger close the centre court programme against Fede Mouriño and Marc Quílez, with Franco Stupaczuk and Jon Sanz also debuting on the same court against José Solano and Ramiro Pereyra earlier in the day.
That is four of the most watched men's pairs all playing on the same day, on the same court. If you are only going to follow one session of the round of 32, Wednesday centre court is the one.
Women's matches worth tracking
The women's draw delivers its own standout fixtures. Tamara Icardo and Claudia Jensen make their Milan debut in the very first match of the day at 09:30, taking on Amanda López and Camila Fassio. Icardo and Jensen have shown real consistency in 2026 and will be looking to build momentum early.
The pick of the women's matches, though, could be Marta Ortega and Sofía Araújo against Jana Montes and Marta Barrera. Ortega and Araújo are one of the more intriguing pairings in the women's game right now, and this is exactly the type of round-of-32 fixture where a tactical mismatch can produce something genuinely interesting to analyse.
Full schedule at a glance
- 09:30 Spain / 04:30 Argentina: Icardo/Jensen vs López/Fassio (Centre Court)

- To follow: Montes/Barrera vs Ortega/Araújo (Centre Court)
- To follow: Tapia/Coello vs Ayats/Sánchez Chamero (Centre Court)
- No earlier than 18:00 Spain / 13:00 Argentina: Tello/Arce vs Gil/Valenzuela (Centre Court)

Additional matches run simultaneously across Court 1 (Allianz Cloud) and Court 2 (GetFIT), bringing the full day's total to 14 matches. The spread across three courts means there will be overlapping action through most of the afternoon and evening.
From a tactical analysis perspective, Wednesday gives us our first real look at how the top pairs have set up for this event. Tapia and Coello in particular have been the benchmark for men's padel for the past two seasons. How sharp they look in their first match in Milan will tell us a lot about where their level is heading into the business end of the tournament. The round of 16 follows shortly after, and at a Premier Padel P1, there is no margin to ease into form slowly.
